Description

Yarm Methodist Church, built in 1764, is an octagonal chapel with later extensions. It is constructed of local brick and features a stone band at the first floor cill. The roof is conical and covered with Welsh slate, topped by a central octagonal stack that has a small conical cap and finial. Each face of the chapel has a Y-tracery window set beneath a round gauged brick arch. There are modern extensions to the north-east and to the south. A notice board indicates that this is the oldest octagonal Methodist Church and has been in continuous use since it was built.
