Description

No. 56 High Street is a building dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century, which has undergone some alterations. It is constructed of stucco featuring incised lines that create the appearance of faceted rustication. The roof is hipped and covered with Welsh slate, with the narrow end facing the road. There is a ridge stack present. Below, there is a projecting shop front from the late 19th century, which is situated beneath a two-storey canted oriel bay of similar age. To the right, there is a four-panel door topped with a plain fanlight, and the door is framed by an archivolt with a key block.
