Description

The Town Hall, built in 1710, is a small square building made of local mottled brick. The roof is pyramidal and covered with modern pantiles, featuring a square central tower that includes a clock, bell-openings, a cupola, and a vane. The ground floor has an arcaded design with two bays on each side. The arches on the north side have been filled in, and a central opening has been added. Stone key and impost blocks are present above the arches. The first floor has sash windows with glazing bars set in exposed wood frames. There are several plaques on the building, including a war memorial, flood marks, and a memorial to the pioneers of the Stockton and Darlington Railway.
