Description

This is an early to mid-18th century pair of through-passage properties on High Street, Yarm. The buildings are constructed of local brick, with pantile roofing, though the roof of number 73 has been renewed with ridged concrete tiles. Chimneys are located at each end of the building, featuring old brick with stone bands at the cill and first-floor levels. The ground floor of number 71 has a modern shop front. The upper floors have three windows each on the first and second floors, with sash windows set within wooden architraves and grooved, stuccoed lintels. Number 73 also has a wide, modern shop front. A rear wing, number 71A, dates to the early 19th century and features windows of that period.
