Description

The Church of St Martin, built between 1882 and 1883, is designed in the Decorated Gothic style. It stands on the site of a 12th-century church, retaining the chancel arch and south doorway from that earlier structure, as well as the 13th-century chancel, although the upper part of the east wall has been rebuilt. The newer sections are constructed of ashlar stone and feature a bellcote with three openings, all beneath a high-pitched hipped roof. At the center, there is a small octagonal tower topped with a spire. Inside, the church contains medieval grave slabs located in the vestry and nave, along with late Georgian wall monuments.
