Description
South Lodge gate piers and gates to The Friarage is a one-storey lodge built in the early to mid-18th century. It features a stucco exterior, a pyramidal slated roof with deep eaves, and a central chimney. The lodge has sash windows with glazing bars and stone cills, and it sits on a stone plinth. The entrance includes a six-panel door set within a Doric prostyle porch, although the back respond of the porch is missing. The gate piers are made of banded stucco and include a cornice and a low blocking course. The wrought iron gates feature a guilloche patterned half rail and spiked tops, while the side railings are modern and not of interest.
