Description

Bentley House is an early 18th-century building in Yarm, located on the south side of Bentley Wynd. Constructed of light red brick, it features a dentilled eaves cornice, a high-pitched pantiled roof, tall brick end chimneys, stone coped gable ends with brick kneelers. The building is three storeys high and has three windows. The ground and first floors contain 18th-century fixed windows with glazing bars and moving quarter-lights; the upper floor has Yorkshire lights. Gauged brick arches with keystones feature above the lower windows. A central six-panel door has been replaced and sits beneath a similar arch. At the rear, a classical doorcase and a Gothic staircase window are present.
