Description

No. 96 High Street is a building from the mid to late 18th century, standing three storeys tall with four windows. The exterior is rendered and grooved to resemble ashlar over brick, featuring a stone frieze and cornice. It has flush framed plate glass sash windows. At the rear, there is a very large staircase window designed in a three-light Venetian pattern, with 'Y' glazing made of lead. There is a later extension on the northwest side. Inside, a well-preserved mid to late 18th-century ramped staircase can be found, complete with half landings and three balusters per tread. The staircase well and landings also feature good mouldings.
