Description

Nos 104 and 105 on High Street are 18th century buildings that have been given a later, unifying front. They are cement rendered and feature side pilasters and a string course at the second floor. The buildings rise four storeys and have four windows. The window surrounds are raised, with pediments above the first-floor windows, although all the windows are modern pivoted casements. There is a modern shop front. A circular stainless steel plaque at first floor level notes that this is the birthplace of John Walker, who was born on 29th May 1780 and is known for inventing a specific type of watch.
