Description
The National Westminster Bank is an early 20th-century building located on the west side of High Street in Stockton on Tees. It is three storeys tall and features six bays. The façade includes channelled angle pilasters and giant Ionic columns that support a heavy top cornice adorned with corbels and modillions. The ground floor is designed in the Tuscan Order, with an entablature that is partly concealed by a signboard. The upper floors have sash windows with architraves, and the first floor is highlighted by dentilled cornices. The ground floor openings have rounded upper corners, and there are doors located at the sides. The building is topped with brick chimneys that have moulded stone capping.
