Description
The County Court is a building constructed in 1867, although some sources suggest it may have been built in 1860. It is attributed to the architect Charles Reeves and features Italianate architectural details. The building stands two storeys high and has a window arrangement of 2 + 4 + 2, with the sides slightly projecting from the centre. It is made of brick with stone dressings, including cornices and vermiculated horizontal quoins.
There is a dentil cornice and a band below the first floor, along with a modillion cornice and a blocking course above. The first-floor windows are framed by heavy pilastered surrounds, with a brick end cornice above the centre window and bracketted segmental pediments on the wing windows. The ground floor windows are round-headed with keys and have panels below them. The sash windows feature marginal glazing. The entrance is located to the right of centre, and there is a four-window return on the south side that is styled similarly.
