Description
Nos. 52 and 54 on High Street are 18th-century buildings that were fully altered in the early 19th century. They are constructed of brick, with No. 54 featuring stucco lintels and keys, while No. 52 is rendered. Both buildings are two storeys tall and have two windows each. No. 54 has a slate roof with coped verges, while No. 52 has a pantiled roof at a steeper angle. There are three chimneys in total. The buildings have a moulded wooden base leading to a moulded gutter. The windows are plain sash, except for No. 52, which has four-light lead dividers and square bays on the ground floor. There are later 19th-century pilastered doorpieces with six-panel doors and 'W' tracery in the fanlights. A pointed arch leads to a through passage on the right side of No. 54. Railings are present at the front.
