Description

The walls surrounding the grounds of the Church of Emmanuel, including gates, date from 1869 and were likely designed by JP Pritchett. Constructed of coursed squared stone with ashlar dressings, the walls enclose the churchyard on three sides and are punctuated by piers with hipped ashlar coping. Wrought-iron gates are present to the east and west, featuring scroll decoration. Railings have been removed. These walls are part of the significant group of buildings around the Church of Emmanuel and are included for their group value with the church itself.
