Description
The guidepost, dating from the early to mid-19th century, is made of dressed sandstone and measures approximately 33 cm by 20 cm, standing 78 cm high. It is located at the south-east end of the north-east parapet of Oven Close Bridge, which spans the disused section of the A171 road over Oven Close Beck. The south-east face of the guidepost is inscribed with "GREAT MORSOM ROAD," while the north-west face, which is partly obscured by the parapet, bears the inscription "KILTON ROAD."
