Description
The footbridge connecting the north and south platforms at Haltwhistle Railway Station was built in the late 19th century for the North Eastern Railway Company. It is constructed from cast iron and features a U-plan design. A wide elliptical arch spans the tracks and supports a horizontal walkway. On either side of the arch, L-plan stair sections are supported by transverse round arches resting on squat corner posts. The railings include standards with moulded square knops and cross-bracing between the middle and top rails.
