Description
The garden walls south and east of Prestwick Hall were built in 1815 by John Dobson. They are constructed of brick in English Garden Wall Bond, with the wall on the east side made of dressed stone.
The wall to the north of the house is approximately 15 feet high and 100 yards long, curving around the northwest corner of the garden. It features boldly splayed coping and has a central doorway with a battered stone surround. Above the doorway is a stone panel carved with a wild boar, flanked by two panels depicting knights and weapons. This wall was designed to be heated and includes chimneys shaped like acroteria. It ramps down to a gateway on the north side, which is fitted with 20th-century wrought-iron gates.
The wall on the east side stands about 3.5 feet high and has flat coping.
