Description
No. 2 Marygate is a Grade II listed building located on the north side of Marygate. This 3-storey structure is built from ashlar and features shop fronts with flush panelled doors, which are accented by Tuscan pilasters and a coved cornice that curves around the corner. Above the shop fronts, there are 12-paned sash windows on the upper two storeys. The entire corner of the building is rounded, and there is a plain band beneath the top cornice. This building is part of an important corner near the Town Hall and is grouped with Nos. 1, 3, 5 Church Street, as well as Nos. 2 to 18 (even) and 24 and 26.
