Description
Slate House is a 17th-century house located in Horsley Welton. It is constructed of random rubble with a Welsh slate roof and has very thick walls. The house is two storeys high, with three bays on the ground floor and irregular window placement on the first floor. The central doorway is within a 20th-century glass porch and has a hoodmould and chamfered surround. A window on the left side also has a hoodmould and a similar surround, while the right-hand window has lost its hoodmould. One small first-floor window, with a chamfered surround, forms the left light of a three-light window, alongside two 19th-century sash windows. Each gable has a small attic window with a chamfered surround. The roof is gabled and features two renewed brick end stacks. Inside, a fireplace is present with a flattened Tudor arch supported by rounded wood corbels.
