Description
A dovecote, likely dating from the mid-18th century, and altered around 1830. It is now used as an outhouse. The building is constructed of roughly-squared stone with cut quoins and dressings, topped with a tooled and margined parapet. A flat, 20th-century roof replaced the original pyramidal roof, which was removed before 1930. The dovecote is a squat, tower-like structure approximately 5.2 metres square externally. The parapet is corbelled out and raised at each corner to resemble a castellated appearance. The west elevation features a lunette above a blocked window recess and a central section of parapet with pigeon holes and an alighting band beneath. The east elevation has a similar window above recently inserted double doors. Inside, there are nesting boxes. The buildings to the north and south are not of architectural significance.
