Description

Home Farmhouse, dating to approximately 1830, with a rear extension in 1857, stands as a farmhouse, now divided into two dwellings. The building is constructed of squared stone with tooled and margined ashlar dressings, and has a slate roof. It follows a T-shaped plan. The symmetrical front elevation presents two storeys and three bays. Features include a plinth, raised quoins, and a chamfered eaves cornice. The central doorway has been renewed and includes an overlight, set beneath a hoodmould. Small-paned 19th-century casement windows are set within chamfered surrounds, the lower ones with labels, all contained within raised stone surrounds. Coped gables are topped with moulded kneelers. Stepped and corniced stacks with conjoined shafts project from the gables. The left return reveals a three-bay rear wing with similar fenestration, and an extruded porch on the right. A further two-bay extension, matching the style, is situated to the far left.
