Description

This is a roadside wall dating from around 1836, located between the parish church and the Old School House in Cresswell Village. It is constructed from squared tooled stone and features gabled coping. The churchyard has low chamfered gate piers topped with moulded swept pyramidal caps, which support a contemporary wrought-iron gate adorned with broad upswept fleur-de-lys heads on the bars and dogbars. There are gateways leading to Church Cottages, Fenham House, and the Old School House, each with simple monolithic gabled piers and renewed gates. The wall is included for its group value.
