Description
This is a milepost located on the north side of the road junction at Keepershield, dating from the early 20th century, likely made by Smith Paterson of Blaydon. It is constructed from cast iron and painted black on a white background. The milepost features a shield-shaped plate that is inscribed with "BELLINGHAM 9¾ HEXHAM 7" on a circular shaft, standing at an overall height of 0.50 metre.
