Description
The piers and screen walls at the entrance to Meldon Park date from the early 19th century and are constructed from stone, featuring both ashlar and squared stone. There are four piers with moulded plinths and caps that flank the main drive entrance, along with pedestrian access on either side. The slightly curved flanking walls are made of large ashlar blocks and support smaller, similar piers. To the left, these walls connect to a taller squared stone wall that leads to a pier with a flat cap, while to the right, there is a wall of tooled squared stone with flat coping, which has collapsed after 15 meters. These structures are listed for their group value with the lodge.
