Description
The stable range located to the north of Lipwood House dates from around 1800. It is constructed of squared rubble with ashlar dressings and features a central bay. The slate roof is adorned with an ornamental tiled ridge that has pierced trefoils. The building is two storeys high and has five bays arranged symmetrically. The central bay projects and includes a segmental carriage arch, a first-floor band, and two part-glazed, part-slatted windows above. There is a semi-circular opening with ten pigeon holes and alighting ledges in the tympanum. On either side of the central bay, there are doors with oblong fanlights flanked by windows, with two additional windows above that have varied glazing. A later projecting left wing is also present. The rear elevation features a central first-floor door at the top of an external stone stair, along with various other openings, some of which have been altered.
