Description

The Golf House is an outbuilding, originally a bastle house, dating from the 16th or early 17th century. It is constructed of large stone rubble with massive quoins and dressings. The roof is slate, and there is a reduced stone stack on the right gable. The front elevation features an external stone stair and a boarded door to the right. On the first floor, there is a six-pane casement window with a splayed lintel, a boarded door with a chamfered left jamb, and another window with a splayed lintel. The rear elevation has a blocked door with massive jambs and lintel. Inside, there are old transverse first-floor beams. The building’s construction and form are typical of a bastle house.
