Description

East Farmhouse, originally The Plough Inn, dates to the mid-18th century with later 19th-century alterations. The house is constructed of brick in an irregular English Garden Wall Bond pattern, with sandstone dressings, and has a Welsh slate roof. It is two storeys high and comprises three bays. A renewed door is located slightly left of centre, featuring a two-pane overlight within a chamfered surround, heightened in the 19th century. A blocked window is positioned above the door, featuring a tooled lintel and a slightly-projecting sill. Later four-pane sash windows fill the window openings in the end bays. The gables have been coped and feature moulded kneelers; the end stacks have been rebuilt, with the stack on the left retaining a moulded cornice. Similar windows are found on the returns, with one on the right side set within the chamfered surround of a former doorway. The right gable has been rebuilt.

The rear elevation includes a boarded door with a three-pane overlight and a tooled lintel. A single-storey rear extension, with a boarded door and a six-pane sash window, connects to the farm buildings.
