Description
The dovecote, located 7 metres southeast of Hartford Hall, dates from the early 20th century. It is constructed from tooled-and-margined stone with a rock-faced plinth and ashlar dressings, topped with a stone slate roof. This small square structure features a central boarded door on the west side, flanked by small windows that have keystones. There are two slit windows on each side and at the rear, with all openings set under round arches. Below the moulded eaves cornice, small openings are present between the rock-faced blocks, which are mostly blind, except for three above the door on the west side that include an alighting shelf. The roof is pyramidal with a swept base, although the finial is now missing.
