Description
The ruin of a bastle house, dating from the late 16th to early 17th century, is located 100 metres east of Stone Hall Farmhouse. It is constructed of coursed rubble with roughly-squared quoins. The structure has a rectangular plan, with the west gable end and rear wall still standing almost to eaves height. There is a blocked chamfered doorway in the west gable end, featuring large roughly-squared alternating jambs and a lintel with a cambered top. The front wall and east gable end have largely collapsed. The site is partly used as a sheep dip, as indicated on the Ordnance Survey map.
