Description
The summer house and garden wall, located west and south of Higham Dykes, date from the early 18th century. They are constructed of brick in English Garden Wall Bond and feature a graduated Lakeland slate roof.
The summer house is two storeys tall, with a single square bay. It has a segment-headed doorway leading to a potting shed on the ground floor, and outside stone steps that lead to a panelled door on the first floor. There is a string course, and the pyramidal roof has a square stack rising from the north-west corner. The first floor is fitted with 12-pane sash windows on the other sides.
The garden wall was originally about 9 feet high but was later raised using different brick and topped with flat coping.
