Description
Benridge Hall Cottage is a cottage dated 1803, as indicated by the inscription above the door. It is built of brick in English Garden Wall bond and has a Welsh slate roof. The cottage is two stories high and has three bays, with an attached cartshed that was incorporated into the house in the mid-20th century.
The original part of the cottage, located on the left, features a central half-glazed door set in a stone surround, which has scalloped decoration in the lintel. Above the door, the initials W D and the date 1803 are displayed. Flanking the door are 16-pane casement windows. On the first floor, there are three small ogee-headed windows with Y-tracery.
To the right of the original cottage, there are three blocked segmental arches that now contain 20th-century 12-pane windows. The roof is hipped and features an old brick ridge stack.
