Description

The gazebo, dating from the late 18th century, is attached to the south-east corner of The Lookout in Embleton. It features a pebbledashed and colourwashed exterior with cut sandstone dressings and a Welsh slate roof. This square, two-storey structure has a set-back at the first floor level. The east face displays a central arched opening with a renewed door beneath an old intersecting fanlight, and above it, there is a renewed round-arched twelve-pane sash window with an intersecting head. The roof is low-pitched and pyramidal.

On the left side, there is a blocked pointed doorway beneath a renewed pointed-arched eight-pane sash window with an intersecting head, along with a small rendered lateral stack. The right side features similar eight-pane sash windows on both floors. The rear elevation has a blocked square-headed door, with an external stone stair leading to a boarded upper door that is topped by a four-centred arch. The adjacent three-storey block has been altered and is not of special interest.
