Description
The Bowman and Morgan headstones, located approximately 20 yards south of the Church of St. Andrew, are a pair of sandstone tablets. The first headstone commemorates Robert Bowman, who died in 1712. It stands about 3 feet high and features a shaped top that is carved with a book and hourglass. This tablet is supported on each side by grooved stones into which the headstone is slotted, similar to those found at Meldon church. The second headstone is dedicated to Robert Morgan, who died in 1758. It also measures around 3 feet high and has an arched top adorned with carvings of an angel and swags.
