Description
Low Angerton Farmhouse, dated 1683, features the initials H.F. on the fireplace lintel. The outshut is possibly from the 18th century, while the rear wing and outbuilding date to the early 19th century. The building is constructed of squared stone with elongated quoins and dressings, with some parts tooled and margined in the 19th century, and has a slate roof.
The farmhouse has a six-panel door with a two-pane overlight in the second bay, and late 19th-century sash windows in older openings, which have trimmed-back chamfered surrounds, except for a blocked first-floor window in the third bay. The roof is steeply pitched and features stepped brick end stacks. Each return has a small attic window with a timber lintel and an old frame with louvre grooves.
The outbuilding to the right has a late 19th-century sash window set in an earlier doorway, while the right return shows a pitching door and an open-pedimented gable. Inside, the fireplace at the west end has a dated segmental lintel.
