Description

This is a sundial located 14 metres south of Newton Hall, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of cut sandstone and features a purple slate dial with a bronze gnomon. The circular shaft is topped with a capital that has egg-and-dart ornamentation. The dial is signed by Thomas Armstrong, Teacher, Beadnell.
