Description

The entrance screen to Newton House, likely built around 1800, features walls made of whinstone rubble that are faced with squared sandstone, along with cut sandstone dressings. It has square piers with plinths, moulded cornices, and low pyramidal caps. These piers are connected by quadrant walls that have low arched coping, leading to similar end piers. This structure is included for its group value.
