Description

The entrance screen located to the south-west of Newton Hall dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of ashlar and features square piers topped with moulded cornices and low pyramidal caps. The screen includes quadrant walls with chamfered coping that connects to similar piers, as well as short straight lengths of wall leading to the end piers, which are also similar in design. A rock-faced wall situated to the east of the eastern end pier is not considered to be of special interest.
