Description

Wood Cottage is a house dated 1758, associated with Edward Haggerston. It is built of ashlar stone and features a Scottish slate roof. The cottage has 1½ storeys and consists of 5 bays. The central entrance is a 19th-century half-glazed door set in a raised surround. On the ground floor, there are four-pane sash windows, also in raised surrounds. The first floor includes two gabled half dormers. The steeply-pitched gabled roof has flat coping. There is a corniced brick stack at the left end and two similar ridge stacks positioned closely on either side of a narrow central stairwell.
