Description

These farm buildings, located about 100 yards northwest of the Garden House, date from the mid-19th century. They are constructed from snecked stone and brick, topped with Welsh slate roofs.

The large two-storey structure is divided into three sections. The central section features a 10-bay design, with a threshing barn at its center that has tall sliding double doors for cart access. There are lower sliding doors in the outer bays and a boarded and battened door set in a chamfered Tudor-arched surround in the third bay. The windows are two-light double-chamfered, set in raised surrounds. The first floor contains a granary, and the section is finished with a hollow-chamfered cornice and a hipped roof. At the rear of this section is the engine shed, which includes a very tall, round, tapering corniced brick chimney.

The left section has a ground floor of snecked rubble and brick above, with shelter sheds on the ground floor featuring two Tudor-arched openings. Above these are two-light double-chamfered windows, along with a hollow-chamfered cornice and a hipped roof.

The right section, built of snecked stone, is similar to the left but features two elliptical arches for the shelter sheds. There are later covered yards in front of the outer section, but these are not of special interest.
