4/53 Farmbuildings c.100 yards north-west of the Garden House

Farmbuildings. Mid C19. Snecked stone and brick with Welsh slate roofs.

A large 2-storey range in 3 sections.

10-bay central section has the threshing barn in the centre with tall sliding double doors forming cart entrance. Lower sliding doors in outer bays. Boarded and battened door in chamfered Tudor-arched surround in 3rd bay. 2-light double-chamfered windows in raised surrounds. Granary on 1st floor. Hollow-chamfered cornice and hipped roof. To rear of this section is the engine shed with very tall round tapering corniced brick engine-house chimney.

Left section is snecked rubble on ground floor, brick above. Shelter sheds on ground floor have 2 Tudor-arched openings. 2-light double chamfered windows over. Hollow-chamfered cornice and hipped roof.

Right section, in snecked stone, is similar but with 2 elliptical arches to shelter sheds.

Later covered yards,in front of outer section, not of special interest.
