Description
Bamburgh Hall is a house that dates from the 17th and 18th centuries and was refronted in the early 19th century. It has a mid-19th century wing at the rear. The facade is made of ashlar stone, while the rest of the building is constructed from random rubble. The roof is covered with Welsh slate and features a double span with a later projecting wing at the back. The house has two storeys plus attics and consists of four bays, with a single-storey, one-bay addition on the right side. In the third bay, there is a panelled door with an overlight that has radial glazing bars. The windows are 16-pane sashes, and there are broad bands above and below each floor. The roof is steeply pitched with gables and end stacks. The rear section is built from larger, rougher masonry and has a large external stack on the right return. Inside, there is an early 18th-century staircase featuring turned balusters, a moulded and ramped handrail, panelled newels, and a closed string. The interior also includes six-panel doors and shutters.
