Description
The wall and gateway adjoining Newton Hall on the east are likely from the 18th century, with the gateway added in the 19th century. The structure is made of squared stone with cut dressings and features limestone urns. The tall wall connects to the north wing of the Hall and has a flat coping that steps down to the gateway. It includes rusticated piers with swell friezes and moulded caps that support tall draped urns. There is also a short length of similar wall to the right. This structure is included for its group value with the Hall.
