Description
This is a farmhouse with an attached wall, dating to the late 17th century, with later alterations and additions in the late 18th and early 19th centuries, and a further front block added in the second quarter of the 19th century. The attached wall is likely from the 18th century. The front block is built of squared stone, while the rear parts are of rubble construction. The stonework features tooled-and-margined quoins and dressings. The roofs are covered in Welsh slate, with some rebuilt brick stacks on old bases; a section of the south extension has synthetic blue slates.
The front (east) elevation is symmetrical, with two storeys and three bays. There is a chamfered plinth and three steps leading to a central part-glazed six-panel door. The windows are 12-pane sashes, some replaced, set in chamfered surrounds with slightly projecting sills, and have a sloped eaves cornice. Coped gables and end stacks are also present. To the left is a south extension with an 8-pane sash and a 20th-century casement on the ground floor, and a 4-pane sash above, both set in older chamfered surrounds. To the right is a tall, flat-coped wall with a part-glazed, flush-panelled door.
The rear elevation displays a blocked door with a flat-pointed monolithic head, and varied window openings, including three 12-pane sashes on the first floor. To the left are pent outbuildings which have boarded doors and back onto the attached wall. To the right is the south extension, featuring a projecting gabled single-storey wing with a replaced casement in an older chamfered surround, and further attached outbuildings.
Inside, there are six-panel doors, folding panelled shutters, and a dog-leg staircase with stick balusters, a moulded handrail, and newels.
