Description

The Old Limekiln, located 200 metres south of Townfoot Farm, dates from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed from roughly-squared stone with cut dressings, featuring brick arches, eyes, and lining to the pot. The limekiln has a seven-sided plan and includes three round arches that are corbelled down to small arched eyes. The circular pot is partly infilled, and there is a curved charging ramp at the rear.
