Description
The Lion's Mouth is a wellhead located 100 metres east of Whitfield Hall, likely dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed from stone and features a large block that is flanked by rough drystone walling. A lion's head is carved in relief on the block, from which the spring water emerges. This wellhead was formerly the water supply for Whitfield Hall.
