Description

This table tomb, dating from the early to mid-18th century, is located approximately three yards south of the south door of the Church of St. Michael in Alwinton. It is made of sandstone and features a bevelled top with a roll-moulded edge, adorned with carved oak leaves in the corners. The tomb is supported by moulded end panels, with the western panel displaying a well-carved memento mori. The inscription on the tomb is worn.
