Description
The Shooting Box is a building likely constructed in the late 19th century. It is made of coursed stone with tooled-and-margined door lintels and features a stone slate roof. The north elevation has one storey and consists of two bays. There is a boarded door and a 16-pane sash window in the right bay, and another 16-pane sash window in the left bay, with a stepped central stack. The gabled returns have similar doors. At the rear, there is a small boarded window and a 16-pane sash window.
Inside, the east bay includes an ornamental cast-iron fireplace set in a plain stone surround and fixed wall benches. The west bay is divided into a smaller room that has a simpler corner fireplace and a storeroom.
