Description
The Wright tombstone, located approximately 4 meters south of the south porch of the Church of St. Cuthbert, dates from 1750 and commemorates two members of the Wright family who died around that time. This tombstone is made of sandstone and measures 64 centimeters by 76 centimeters. It features a wavy head that is intricately carved with an angel, along with a prayer book, hourglass, and scrolls on either side. The epitaph is inscribed in good lettering, although it is worn and partly illegible at the base, stating: "Here lieth the body of Christopher Wright who departed this life February ye 15th 1750 aged 47 Yrs. Likewise in memory of George Wright .......".
