Description

This chest tomb, located 3 metres south of the Church of All Saints, was erected in 1781 for Robert Colling. It is made of sandstone with a grey limestone top slab. The tomb features a cyma-moulded plinth, with piers at the corners and in the centre of the longer sides, all displaying recessed infill panels with chamfered rustication. The horizontal top slab has a projecting moulded edge and includes inscriptions for Robert Colling, who died in 1781, as well as for his descendants, with the most recent inscription dating to 1869. The tomb is included for its group value.
