Description

No. 6 Owengate is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of English garden wall bond brick with painted ashlar dressings. The roof is not visible, but it features stone gable copings. The building has three storeys and four bays. There are four steps leading up to a blocked door, which has an inserted sash window with glazing bars set in a deep panelled reveal flanked by narrow pilasters. The door and sash windows have flat stone lintels, all featuring glazing bars and sill bands. The roof has curved kneelers and there is a chimney at the left end. A boot scraper is located beside the door.
