Description
The walls to the south of West Middleton Farmhouse are likely from the late 17th century and are made of coursed rubble with cut dressings. They include a terrace wall and walls that enclose a rectangular garden situated on a hillside below. The terrace wall features a flight of steps near the east end and a raking buttress near the west end. The flat slab coping includes a stone to the west of the steps that has an incised design, likely part of a medieval cross slab. The garden walls are in a ruinous state in some areas, and there is a central gateway on the south side that holds a 19th-century wrought-iron gate with an arched top and a finial.
