Description

Hutton Farmhouse is a house dating from around 1700. It is constructed of rubble with cut dressings and features a 20th-century tile roof, with stone slates at the eaves. One of the chimneys has been rebuilt in brick. The house is two storeys high and consists of two bays. The central doorway has been renewed, and the wide windows have renewed glazing, which were probably originally wood-mullioned. All openings are framed with raised stone surrounds and have relieving arches above them. The gables are coped and sit on moulded kneelers, while the right end stack is stepped and banded, and the left end stack has been rebuilt. There are two stone-surround windows on the right side of the house, and a contemporary outshut is present at the rear. Inside, there is a stone fireplace with a bracketed hood, spine beams, and an original staircase with splat balusters.
